Sister Helen Prejean (
http://www.prejean.org/) is an internationally known anti-death penalty activist and author.
A native of Louisiana, she has been instrumental in sparking national dialogue on the death penalty and in shaping the Catholic Church’s opposition to all state executions. She will call for the abolition of New Mexico's death penalty, as well as Los Alamos' nuclear weapons, which put us all on a global, nuclear death row.
Her best-selling book, Dead Man Walking: An Eyewitness Account of the Death Penalty in the United States, was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize, and spawned an Oscar-winning movie and an internationally-acclaimed opera Her latest book is The Death of Innocents: An Eyewitness Account of Wrongful Executions. She travels the world giving lectures, and has been nominated many times for the Nobel Peace Prize.

at Ashley Pond in Los Alamos, NM. Sr. Helen will also speak at the Hiroshima Day rally
beginning at 4:00 at Ashley Pond, Los Alamos, NM.
(Burlap sackcloth and ashes will be provided; please bring peace signs and banners.)
